Thanks to its modular structure, Stabimed® RICE can be used flexibly in therapy. In addition to the physiological knee guidance, it offers an optional cooling function and options for targeted compression. Stabimed® RICE is used when it is necessary to secure the physiological guidance of the knee joint and / or to relieve the joint apparatus, for example:
- after collateral ligament injuries
- after meniscus injuries
- after endoprosthetic surgery
- for knee instabilities
- in knee osteoarthritis
A special feature of the short soft orthosis is the cooling function: thanks to two exchangeable gel cooling compresses with patella recess, Stabimed® RICE optionally cools the joint, which in turn can reduce pain. The compresses are anatomically preformed, included in the scope of delivery and are reusable.
Another advantage is the integrated compression function. It can reduce swelling and counteract the formation of edema. The single-chamber air system is simply filled with the enclosed pump. The integrated valve button is used for individual pressure regulation. In this way, the compression can be adapted to the needs of the user.
The aluminum rails, which enable lateral (collateral) stabilization of the knee joint, can be individually adjusted. The extension and flexion limitation (extension and flexion limitation) can also be flexibly adjusted to the needs of the user using the wedge set.
The Stabimed® RICE soft orthosis is easy to use: it is placed on the knee from the front. Two wide straps, which are easy to grip and have comfortable padding, ensure the necessary fastening. In addition, belt extensions can be attached if necessary, which cover a thigh circumference of up to 90 centimeters. The soft material gives a plus in comfort.
