Shoulder orthosis medi arm sling - medi arm sling to immobilize the shoulder in internal rotation
- Secure positioning of the shoulder and elbow joints in internal rotation to protect against harmful joint movements
- The size of the forearm pocket can be individually adjusted by turning it inside out and fixing it with Velcro points
- Facilitates early functional follow-up treatment (e.g. physiotherapy) by simply opening the forearm pocket
- Skin-friendly material
- Easy to use
The medi arm sling is an orthosis for securely positioning the shoulder and elbow in internal rotation. To put on the medi arm sling, the forearm is positioned in the arm pocket. The strap that runs over the shoulder stabilizes the arm and limits shoulder mobility. By turning the forearm pocket inside out, the orthosis can be individually adjusted to the arm length. Simply opening the bag makes early functional follow-up treatment easier, for example as part of physiotherapy.
The shoulder joint orthosis can be worn as soon as immobilization of the shoulder joint in internal rotation becomes necessary. This is the case, for example, with conservative therapy after an anterior dislocation of the shoulder (anterior shoulder dislocation) or a chronic anterior subluxation. The medi arm sling is also used:
- after rotator cuff reconstructions
- after AC joint ruptures (conservative, postoperative)
- for the treatment of a fracture of the shoulder blade (scapula fracture) - both conservatively and postoperatively
- for conservative and postoperative therapy after a humeral head fracture
The shoulder joint orthosis serves to immobilize and protect the joint from harmful movements. A limitation of shoulder mobility is achieved in all levels. The medi arm sling therefore offers a way to safely immobilize the shoulder.
The orthosis can be easily opened for early functional follow-up treatment: this makes it easier to carry out exercises to support the healing process. The wearer can also put on and take off the orthosis independently. The skin-friendly material ensures a comfortable fit. Thanks to the high-quality padding material on the strap, wearing comfort is significantly increased.
Indications
All indications for which immobilization of the shoulder joint in internal rotation is necessary, such as: E.g.:
- Conservative for anterior shoulder dislocation/chronic anterior subluxation
- After rotator cuff reconstruction
- AC joint dislocation (conservative, postoperative)
- Scapula fracture (conservative, postoperative)
- Proximal humeral head fracture (conservative, postoperative)
