Cutimed® Sorbact® Gel is a hydrogel-soaked, germ-reducing wound dressing. It cleans the wound of plaque and necrotic tissue through autolytic debridement and reduces the bacterial count in the wound based on the principle of hydrophobic interaction:
The special Sorbact® coating gives the product strong hydrophobic (water-repellent) properties. Many pathogenic bacteria and fungi are hydrophobic in nature and therefore bind to the Sorbact® fabric. Each time the dressing is changed, the number of germs in the wound is reduced and optimal conditions are created for the natural wound healing process.
